It was believed that the Gate of Hell opens in the seventh lunar month and that is the time when ghosts enjoy their "vacation" in the human world. In this month, Hong Kong people are extra cautious especially at night so as to prevent the ghosts from following them back home.
The festival might not be as scary as you thought. In this tour, we are going to delve into this unique culture and learn about the origin and significance of the Hungry Ghost Festival. You will witness different eye-opening traditional ceremonies (they are rare to see in other parts of Hong Kong!) in Peng Chau, a small island in Hong Kong.
We will sample some well-known local snacks in Peng Chau during the tour!
